Description: The State Library Support Assistant is in the Public Services Unit. This position offers online support using tools such as chat and email, to answer general library questions. Assists in contacting new applicants to explain services and answers any questions. Responds to patron questions/inquiries pertaining to the operation of library provided technology such as digital talking book machines. Uses computer extensively to provide support for assistive technology and to have effective communication with patrons. Provides basic troubleshooting for patrons for mobile apps and third-party devices to use BARD (Braille and Audio Reading Download) and access online library reading materials. Provides basic setup and troubleshooting for patrons using the Web OPAC (Online Public Access Catalog).

Qualifications: High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Demonstrated experience in customer service to include explaining and interpreting program information orally or in writing to clients, customers and/or staff. Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Office Suite, Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams.

Salary: $24,356 - $32,780
