DESCRIPTION
The Technical Services Librarian is responsible for overseeing the library system’s collection development, technical services, and information technology operations. This position manages staff, budgets, workflows, and technology infrastructure to ensure efficient access to library materials and technology resources across all library locations. The Technical Services Librarian serves as the local systems administrator and provides leadership in library technology planning, implementation, and support.
QUALIFICATIONS
A Master’s degree in Library Science (MLS/MLIS) from an ALA-accredited institution or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Experience in technical services, collection development, and library technology is required. Supervisory experience is preferred. Thorough knowledge of library technical services operations and collection development practices; strong understanding of integrated library systems, library technologies, and digital resources; ability to supervise staff, manage projects, and prioritize multiple responsibilities; strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills; ability to communicate technical information clearly to staff and the public.
SALARY
$64,390.50 - $83,707.65 / ANNUALLY
