Description: The UNC School of the Arts invites applicants for the position of University Librarian. We are seeking an experienced, collaborative, and innovative candidate to provide leadership to the UNCSA Library, which includes Access Services, University Archives, Benjamin F. Ward Music Library, Reference, Systems, and Technical Services, and a team of 5 professional librarians, 7 support staff, and a range of part-time and graduate assistants. The UNCSA Library provides materials and services which support UNCSA’s educational, artistic, and performance objectives, and which serve the intellectual, informational, and cultural needs of the students, faculty, and staff of the school, as well as other members of the local community. The position will remain open until filled, but priority will be given to applications received by February 21. The position is open to internal applicants within the UNC System only.

Qualifications: Master’s degree in Library/Information Science from an ALA-accredited institution with a demonstrated record of at least 5 years of successful, progressively responsible library leadership at the academic/university level required. Arts background preferred. Experience developing capacity for new and emerging areas of library focus – e.g. user experience, digital preservation, data collection, assessment, and digital scholarship preferred. Experience acquiring funding through a diverse array of sources, including institution funds, grant-writing, and fundraising preferred.
