Web Development Librarian - Greensboro Public Libraries

Description: The Web Development Librarian will work with staff in producing digital content for website development for the Greensboro Public Library System. She or he should have a broad sense of website design and management, including writing, content creation, user experience, and maintenance. The Web Development Librarian is frequently involved in the collaboration of new ideas, directions, and tools for programming, resources, and communications while performing other duties, as needed. Assist in coordinating, facilitating, and promoting library resources. Facilitate the design, creation, and maintenance of the organization’s website(s) and intranet site. Provide excellent customer and public service. Follow a system of content management that organizes essential data, improves the overall workflow, and provides a searchable database for quick retrieval. Analyze user experience and website design trends. Make frequent updates to the organization’s website(s) to deliver current, relevant, professional, and engaging content and ensure the accuracy of that content.

Qualifications: Master's Degree with 1-3 or more years of related experience (i.e. working in a library, website design, database management). Microsoft Office experience. Master’s in Library & Information Science, website design, or Computer Science; 2+ years experience managing/creating content for websites/managing proxy servers; and SharePoint Project management preferred.

Salary: $40,267 - $67,112
