Women's History Month Lunch & Learn: Reconstruction Aides

Join us on Tuesdays for the Women's History Month Lunch & Learn webinar series.

Reconstruction Aides

Reconstruction Aides worked in Veterans’ Hospitals following WWI. Lead Archivist of the Western Regional Archives, Heather South, discusses the creation of the program and significance of the aides’ activities in Asheville, including their development of the field of physical therapy and arts and crafts to boost patients’ mental health and agility.
