Description: The Youth Programming Librarian I located at the Headquarters branch in the Programming Division is responsible for assuring high customer and employee satisfaction with all assigned aspects of Youth Programming in accordance with current Library policies and procedures, in cooperation with Library departments and other organizations in support of the library mission and vision. This position works with the Division Manager for Programs to ensure that all programming meets the educational and entertainment needs of youth of all ages, parents, and caregivers.
Qualifications: Knowledge of library procedures, collection management, library system and services. Knowledge of readers’ advisory methods and sources. Ability to conduct programs with sensitivity to the various needs of the audience and with age-appropriate materials and activities. Proficiency in languages other than English is preferred.
