DESCRIPTION
The purpose of this position is to serve the informational, reference and reading needs of library patrons of all ages at ACPL. This position works under the supervision of the Community Engagement Librarian. This position is a full-time, 40 hours per week, benefited position. While most hours are Monday – Friday, frequent monthly weekend or evening hours are required. This position will be scheduled to work at other library branches throughout Alamance County on a regular basis.
The best candidate will possess a strong commitment to provide customer-focused service for a wide-range of diverse patrons and community members. Responsibilities including working with staff to plan, organize & implement appropriate youth programming to ensure quality standards are being followed; coordinate system-wide age-appropriate learning programming, primarily Summer Reading; coordinate with the Collection Development Librarian to purchase youth materials; cultivate and maintain partnerships with local schools, childcare providers and other youth related organizations.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree with 2 to 3 years of library experience working in a children’s programming role is required (MLIS preferred)
Flexibility in scheduling is required.
Experience working with diverse populations in community-facing roles strongly preferred. Bilingual (Spanish) is preferred.
SALARY
$50,272.00 - $53,000.00
