Description: Pender County Library is seeking applicants for the Youth Services Librarian position at the Main Library in Burgaw. The person in this position will provide services, resources, and programs that reflect community needs and interests for children ages 0-12 and their caregivers. They will also provide general library services throughout the library, including reference services, readers’ advisory, circulation services, basic technology assistance, and other patron services to people of all ages, and will perform general library duties such as checking in and shelving materials, and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Master of Library Science from ALA accredited college and/or a Bachelor of Education; minimum 1 year of experience working in a public library in youth services or comparable professional experience working with children in an educational environment, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Proficiency is Spanish is a plus.
