Description: Performs responsible professional librarian work in the Youth Services area if the Library. An employee in this class is responsible to provide reference and readers’ advisory in youth literature. Develops and implements programs for youth from birth through grade 12. Work includes developing and implementing programs for youth and families. Under the direction of the Library Director, plans and implements new services and programs for youth and families. Work is performed independently under the supervision of the Library Director and is evaluated through conferences, reports, quality and quantity of services delivered, and daily observation.
Qualifications: Desirable Education and Experience Master’s Degree in library science from an accredited ALA library school and some experience in library work at the professional level. Must possess or be eligible for NC Public Library Certification.
Salary: $40,665 - $63,031
