Description: Wake County Public Libraries is seeking a Youth Services Manager for its busy Eva Perry Regional Library located in Apex, NC. You will work as part of a management team at the library, and more specifically, supervise a team of librarians and library assistants who work in the Youth Services Department providing dynamic programs and services to children of all ages. As Department Manager, you will also collaborate with your peers and librarians from across the system to create and promote quality children’s programming and services. Key Responsibilities include supervising a team of Librarians and Library Assistants in providing high quality programs and services to children birth through teen and their caregivers; Working as part of a management team at your regional library to ensure quality service and efficient operations; Serve as the Manager on Duty as needed; Collaborate with senior management and/or peers across the system on projects and initiatives.
Qualifications: Master's degree in Librarianship or related field required: MLS, MLIS, MIS, ML from an ALA accredited program or NC program. One year of experience as a Librarian Equivalent education and experience are not accepted. Please include all prior work experience on your application and resume. Two years of professional public library experience and experience with current youth services practices and trends preferred.
