Description: Work closely with the project coordinator of the Our Story. Our Terms: Documenting Movement Building from the Inside Out project to supervise a group of early career archivists and cultural memory workers who will collaborate with present day activist organizations. The Our Story. Our Terms project is an innovative 3-year grant funded collaborative project focused on building capacity for archiving the modern social justice movement activities of the past ten years. As the project archivist, you will recruit, advise, lead training sessions and coordinate an archivist collective that will work to survey, organize, and develop organizational archiving practices with their activist organization partners. You will also be responsible for creating a digital collection of modern movement materials to be published in the Duke Digital Repository. This is a term appointment through March 31, 2024.

Qualifications: Master’s degree from an ALA-accredited program in history, Africana Studies, humanities, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 3 years and record of successful performance of work and show promise of an extended range of professional activity in the future.

Salary: $54,000 - $60,000
