Our Mission
The Government and Heritage Library's (GHL) mission is to preserve and facilitate public access to state government information; advance the study, understanding, and appreciation of North Carolina's cultural heritage; and provide library resources and services that support the operational needs of state government agencies.
GHL Provides:

- Reference and research instruction (assistance from library staff with resources, concepts, and research strategies)

Access to information relating to North Carolina:
- History
- Government (state, federal, and local)
- Data and statistics about North Carolina; such as agriculture, population, crime, etc.
- Genealogy
Additional support
- Digital information management (i.e., methods for the acquiring, providing, describing, housing, safeguarding, delivering, and creating digital resources and products.)
- Information and digital literacy (i.e., such as techniques for accessing and interpreting information in print or digital.)
