Library Development provides North Carolinians with access to the information they need to achieve their personal, educational and professional goals as well as support NC Library Staff by strengthening their skills and knowledge
The Library Development section is the extension wing of the State Library. Library Development helps North Carolina Libraries build and maintain services to their communities and fosters best practices in the library community.
Library Development sponsors continuing education opportunities for library staff and administers grant programs to libraries including State Aid to public libraries and the NC Cardinal Consortium. Staff provide consulting services in the following areas: management, youth services, evaluation and assessment and technology.
