Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)

Disability Rights NC Employment Resources - A list of employment resources provided by Disability Rights North Carolina, the Protection and Advocacy System of North Carolina

Guide for People with Disabilities Seeking Employment - general explanations of a person’s rights under the ADA, requesting and understanding reasonable accommodations, and when to file a charge with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.

Business Programs and Resources for Entrepreneurs or Graduates with a Disability - Rider University Online's Guide for Entrepreneurs or Graduates with a Disability aims to assist people with disabilities in starting their own business or pursuing self-employment. The guide offers resources including potential business or career options, how to create a business plan, as well as financial aid opportunities.

Career Resources for Americans with Disabilities by JobHero.com - if you’re looking for a job, you’ll find plenty of trustworthy resources to help you in your search, including information about public policy, employer compliance, and issues facing disabled individuals in the workforce. Advocacy groups, government agencies, and informative articles. Helpful tools for employers also.

Everybody Works NC - is a campaign for the North Carolina disability community to create more jobs and job oriented educational opportunities. Information is divided into employers looking to hire people with disabilities; people with disabilities looking for employment; and how to promote jobs for people with disabilities in North Carolina.

Learn How to Become - Employment Opportunities for Individuals with Disabilities - This covers how to find a job that is a good fit, how to work through challenges and rights with employers, how to find jobs that can accommodate individuals with disabilities, and how to disclose a disability.

North Carolina Assistive Technology Program (NCATP) - NCATP has services that can help employers and employees in private and public settings to accommodate needs for technology that helps people do their jobs or become employed.
