Description: The Administrative Specialist works for the State Library of North Carolina and is responsible for supporting the State Library’s operational and programmatic goals. The operations administrative specialist is a member of a 4-person administrative support team with responsibility for program support, procurement, communications, financial record-keeping and records management duties that support all State Library programs. Performs a variety of procurement, communications, financial record-keeping, records management, and program support duties such as coordinating logistical arrangements for workshops and meetings at the State Library and other locations across the state. Processes travel reimbursements. Updates website content, and processes applications and other documentation for North Carolina Public Librarian Certification and the State Aid grant program.
Qualifications: Demonstrated experience using current office technology and applications, including MS Office Suite and web-based communication tools such as Teams and/or Zoom. Demonstrated experience using specialized software and/or database systems such s electronic procurement systems, Access, MS Excel, and/or Adobe Acrobat. Demonstrated experience operating and/or troubleshooting standard office equipment such as printers and/or web/video conference equipment. Demonstrated experience with arranging and/or coordinating meetings. Completion of college level accounting coursework. Demonstrated knowledge of State of North Carolina procurement procedures. Demonstrated experience working with and/or reconciling budget reports. High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and two years of related administrative experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
