African American Genealogy: Historic Stagville

African American Genealogy: Historic Stagville

African American Genealogy: Historic Stagville

Zoom Program: Wednesday, June 23, 2021, 11:00 am - 12:00 pm

Join us in a conversation with the Stagville State Historic Site, which preserves remnants of one of the largest plantations in North Carolina. Khadija McNair, Assistant Site Manager at Historic Stagville, will share the site’s history as well as discuss the genealogical research they do that assists in connecting descendants to their ancestors who were enslaved at Stagville. Khadija will be joined by a descendant of Historic Stagville who will discuss their journey to discovering their ancestors who experienced slavery at Historic Stagville and the impact this has had on their genealogy research.
