Description: The Assistant Director of Accessible Books & Library Services (ABLS) serves as the head of patron services for State Library of North Carolina Accessible Books & Library Services (SLNC ABLS). This position manages reference and reader’s advisory services for SLNC ABLS patrons in accordance with ABLS’s and the National Library Service’s policies, guidelines, and standards. This position also oversees community engagement initiatives, and in-person and virtual programming. This position works with the Director of SLNC ABLS to develop, implement, and evaluate library services. This position fosters collaborative relationships with other divisions within state government, other NLS libraries, North Carolina libraries, non-profits, and more.
Qualifications: Master's degree in library and information science or a related discipline from an appropriately accredited institution and four years of professional librarian experience related to the area of assignment; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Salary: $47,959 - $70,456
