Description: The Assistant University Archivist (AUA) for Research Services and Student Engagement oversees reference, instruction, and student engagement with Duke University’s history and Archives. They work closely with administrators, faculty, staff, students, alumni, and the general public to answer inquiries, both in person and remotely. The AUA connects with student organizations on campus, promoting the use of University Archives and collecting their records. Reporting to the University Archivist and acting in her stead when necessary, the Assistant University Archivist also coordinates University Archives events, web content, social media, and other communications, in conjunction with University Archives staff and other colleagues.
Qualifications: MLS from an ALA-accredited program and/or advanced degree in a related field and/or equivalent experience. One or more years of relevant archives experience; familiarity with standard archival and library procedures; demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively with colleagues and library users.
Salary: $55,000 - $65,000
