Description: The Digital Services Supervisor serves as the supervisor to the Digital Services Unit. This position oversees digital preservation of state government information. This position directly supervises unit staff and directs the coordination of unit staff to support the mission of GHL. Key responsibilities include overseeing the digitization of GHL publications, support of delivery platforms for access to digital information, and preservation of born-digital and digitized state government information; developing and managing the State Library’s digital collections of state government information to ensure long-term preservation and permanent public access to these resources; adapting and applying standards and best practices for building trusted digital repositories, leading the testing, evaluation, and selection of digital content management systems and repository solutions, and establishing workflow processes and procedures for digital collection management; directing and managing metadata creation for digital collections and leading the Content and Information Delivery branch in developing and implementing digital rights management and quality control measures, including authentication of digital assets; and participating in testing and evaluating best practices and diverse technology solutions for harvesting, describing, preserving, and providing long term access to digital content.
Qualifications: Master's degree in library and information science or a related discipline from an appropriately accredited institution and four years of professional librarian experience related to the area of assignment; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
