Description: The Director of Library Development provides leadership and direction in the administration and management of the Library Development Section. Key responsibilities include directing library development activities and supervising staff in designated program areas including public library management, continuing education, youth services, adult services, NC Cardinal, networking, data analysis, and state and federal grant programs; managing statewide programs that work in partnership with local communities and others to extend and develop public library service; facilitating cooperative efforts among all types of libraries and other organizations in North Carolina; establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with members of the North Carolina library community, library board members, Friends of Libraries, local government officials, and representatives of state government and other organizations with an interest in libraries; administering state-funded Grants to Libraries program and overseeing monitoring activities to ensure compliance; and administering and monitoring section budgets and ensuring compliance with all state regulations.

Qualifications:Master's degree in library and information science or a related discipline from an appropriately accredited institution and five years of professional librarian experience, three of which should have been in a supervisory, consultative, or administrative capacity; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Eligible for NC Public Librarian Certification.

Salary: $60,530-$83,763
