Description: The Director of Library Development serves as a member of the State Library’s Senior Management team to set vision and strategic direction for the State Library and direct the activities of the organization. This position supervises staff and directs activities in program areas that include State Aid to Libraries grants, Library Services and Technology Act grants, public library management, continuing education, youth services, adult services, data analysis and communication, digital literacy, public librarian certification, and the NC Cardinal consortium. This position leads a team that currently consists of 12 FTEs, with 8 direct reports. Position values diversity, equity, and accessibility in library staff, resources, and programs. This position prioritizes employee engagement and iterative processes to evolve programs and services to meet a broad range of community needs.
Qualifications: Master's degree in library and information science or a related discipline from an appropriately accredited institution and five years of professional librarian experience, three of which should have been in a supervisory, consultative, or administrative capacity; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Salary: $61,209 - $100,000
