Description: Employee is responsible for providing advanced library services to customers in the Local and State History Department and at Information Services Department service points. This position is responsible for the supervision, training, and scheduling of staff and may regularly act as Person-in-Charge in absence of Headquarters Manager. Staffs a public service point and performs proactive reference; answers complex customer questions about information and technology resources, including genealogy and family history resources. Provides one-on-one instruction/training for customers on an appointment basis (Book-a-Librarian.) Serves as a working member of councils and committees as assigned (adult programming committee, web team, innovation review team, database task force, etc.) Working with immediate supervisor, may hire, supervise, train, evaluate, and schedule assigned subordinate staff; may also provide input on performance evaluations of subordinate staff not directly supervised. Participates in collection maintenance, including weeding and discarding items and identifying and recommending replacement titles and new materials.

Qualifications: Master's degree in Library Science. Trainee applicants must have completed at least 75% of required course work towards an MLS and submit a letter from the Dean of the University showing current credit hours and candidate's ability to complete all Master's degree requirements within a year.

Salary: $39,295.64
