Description: The City of High Point's Library Department is seeking to hire a Supervisor to join their team. This position operates under the supervision of the Research Services Division Manager. The Supervisor will have a diverse range of responsibilities, including managing and overseeing services provided by the public computing center and mobile technology van outreach. They will also be responsible for supervising a team of professional and paraprofessional staff members. Additionally, the Supervisor will actively participate in collection development and management, contribute to hiring teams, and play a role in planning and delivering staff training programs. Other duties include assisting in division budget preparations, providing reference services to the public, supporting individuals in utilizing computing resources, software applications, and online digital resources. The Supervisor will also participate and assist in the presentation of programs and training sessions for the public, as well as engage in professional development activities. It is essential for the Supervisor to ensure that all work is conducted in compliance with OSHA and City of High Point Safety Standards and policies.
Qualifications: An MLS degree from an ALA-approved institution, a valid NC Driver's License, and eligibility for an NC Public Librarian certificate. In addition, candidates should have at least three years of supervisory experience and proficiency in MS Office and Google apps. Preferred qualifications include proficiency in smartphone and computer operating systems, a minimum of three years of supervision experience, possession of an NC Public Librarian certificate, and proficiency in Spanish or other foreign languages.
Salary: $45,606.08 - $58,433.04
