Description: An employee in this class is responsible for planning, organizing, staffing, and supervising the circulation function for the Library. Work includes overseeing the staffing of the circulation desk, coordinating the work of circulation staff members, recruiting and training volunteers, solving patron problems, and other related tasks. The employee establishes schedules and trains new staff members, participates in the work, and performs readers’ advisory. The employee supervises and participates in circulation responsibilities and ensures accurate implementation of library policies and procedures. Work requires accuracy, judgment, tact, and diplomacy in dealing with the public, technology, and supervisory skills. Work is performed under regular supervision of a Library Branch Manager or Library Branch Supervisor and is evaluated through daily observation, discussions, reports, and quality and quantity of services delivered.
Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited college or university and some public library and supervisory experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Salary: $38,725 - $41,370
