Description: The Library Director oversees the day-to-day operations of the Charlotte campus library of Union Presbyterian Seminary. The work week for this position is Tuesday through Saturday. The Director provides reference assistance to students in person when they are on campus and via email, Zoom, and telephone when they are not; supervises two library employees; works closely with the Seminary Librarian in Richmond to make purchasing and other financial and personnel decisions and make reports to the seminary administration and Board of Trustees; works with the VP for Advancement to solicit financial gifts for the library; prepares the Charlotte library's annual budget; and participates actively in area library consortium agreements.
Qualifications: MLIS; advanced degree in a theological discipline (doctorate preferred); 3-5 years of professional library experience; demonstrated teaching ability for library-related instruction.
