LINC, North Carolina’s One-Stop Data Source: A Hands-on Virtual Workshop
LINC (Log Into North Carolina), from the North Carolina Office of State Budget and Management, allows users to search, chart, and map North Carolina data. This workshop will provide participants with essential information for using LINC, along with tools, search and navigation strategies, and hands-on practice.
Facilitated and hosted by Elizabeth Hayden at the SLNC Government & Heritage Library, the workshop will feature guest speaker Bob Coats, the North Carolina Office of State Budget and Management State Data Center Coordinator, and the Governor’s Census Liaison. Coats will share an overview of LINC, what information is available, and navigation and search strategies. There will be time for focused hands-on practice with search questions and support from facilitators and presenters.
Participants will leave with in-depth knowledge of LINC as a tool to apply to work situations, business planning, decision-making, and grant writing. The workshop will conclude with information on how to access SLNC Government & Heritage Library services, resources, and research support.
