Description: The Music Librarian serves as a liaison between the Library and the School of Music faculty and administration, anticipating and directly responding to curricular needs, materials requests, and service enhancements. This position manages the Benjamin F. Ward Music and Media Library collections, which include scores, books, audio recordings, reference holdings, and performance collections. Collection development activities include the selection of new materials, weeding of current ones, and evaluation of gifts. The Music Librarian works in collaboration with Library staff to steer overall collections management decisions, user experience and outreach efforts, and library services.

Qualifications: Masters in Library Science from an ALA-accredited institution; Two years of experience working as a librarian in an academic setting; Significant background in music performance, history, or related music discipline. Advanced degree in Music sufficient to meet faculty credentials guidelines and working knowledge of a foreign language preferred.
