Description: North Carolina Wesleyan College seeks an enthusiastic, service-oriented professional librarian to work part-time, as part of a team providing reference service and instruction for NC Wesleyan students, faculty, and staff. The part-time Reference Librarian will work about 20 hours per week from August to April when school is in session. This librarian helps provide reference services for students and faculty both in-person and online and also helps students to find, critically evaluate, and ethically use information sources. This librarian will also help with other projects as needed. The schedule includes night and weekend hours.
Qualifications: Master’s degree in library or information science. Knowledge of reference resources and techniques. Knowledge of computers including knowledge of the full Microsoft Office Suite. Comprehensive knowledge of reference sources and online searching. Academic library experience including experience teaching general and specialized information literacy skills is preferred.
