Description: The Technical Services Librarian will support the library system in the areas of maintaining the accuracy and integrity of bibliographic and authority records in the online catalog and performs original and copy cataloging. Responsible for cataloging and classifying library materials; performing all copy and original cataloging; establishing cataloging policies and procedures for technical services and revising annually; maintaining the accuracy and the integrity of bibliographic and authority records in the online catalog; editing non-original cataloging and revising current bibliographic records; and maintaining statistics and preparing reports related to cataloging and processing. Knowledge and skills required include working knowledge of overall public library policies; thorough knowledge of principles and practices of bibliographic control including MARC, AACR2, LCSH, LC and Dewey Decimal classification; ability to produce original cataloging in an automated library system; and expertise with computer technology, including integrated library systems and computer networks.

Qualifications: Master’s in Library Science from an ALA-accredited program or equivalent training and one or more years of cataloging experience.

Salary: $43,991-$56,088
