Description: This position is responsible for supervising the children's service staff, coordinating with other library services and directing children's library programs. This person purchases materials for the children's collection, monitoring the behavior of children, maintaining the collection, and training staff. This person provides reference and circulation assistance at the circulation desk. This person must have considerable knowledge, skill, and ability in every phase of the public library field, particularly dealing with the children's library service. Duties include working one evening each week and at least one Saturday each month. Works under the general supervision of the Library Director.
Qualifications: Masters in Library Science from an ALA-accredited institution. Previous experience working in libraries is preferred. Valid NC driver’s license. Eligible for North Carolina Public Librarian Certification. Preference will be given to applicants with Masters in Library Science from an ALA-accredited institution.
Salary: $41,822.78 - $61,727.68
