The State Library of North Carolina has a collection of materials that are available to public libraries to check out and use for community programming. All programming materials are subject to availability.
The Space Science Institute’s STARnet program to create the program SEAL: Solar Eclipse Activities for Libraries. The State Library owns 2 Multi-generational Solar Telescope & More Kits and 1 Solar Eclipse Activities & More Kits. You may request one of each kit at the same time.

National Geographic Giant Map Kit-National Geographic Giant maps are oversized vinyl floor maps designed to teach elementary spatial thinking to elementary school students.
Community Action Poverty Simulation Kit-Designed to help participants understand what it might be like to live in a typical low-income family trying to survive from month to month. The object is to sensitize participants to the realities faced by low-income people. In the simulation, up to 88 participants assume the roles of up to 26 different families facing poverty. Dolls (provided) may be used to simulate 1-3 year old children. The simulation is conducted in a large room with families in the center surrounded by various services including a bank, super center, community action agency, employer, utility company, pawn broker, grocery, social services agency, faith-based agency, payday and title loan, mortgage company, school, community health center, child care center, etc.
